Perennial Plant Association Scholarship Program

The Perennial Plant Association is proud to offer five scholarships to college students studying horticulture or a related subject area. Students enrolled in two or four-year programs are eligible to apply.

Each scholarship recipient will receive $1000 and complimentary registration for all lectures and tours at the 2012 Perennial Plant Symposium in Boston, Massachusetts, July 4-10. Recipients will also receive complimentary lodging during the symposium. Scholarship recipients are welcomed and encouraged to attend the entire symposium. However, each recipient must attend July 6-8 to be eligible for the $1000 scholarship. Applicants should consider this requirement before applying.

The completed application, statement of purpose, official college transcript, and three letters of recommendation should be mailed to the PPA office by March 2, 2012. Each scholarship applicant will be notified by late April.

Requirements:

  • Student should be majoring or minoring in horticulture or a related field.
  • Student should have at least one quarter or semester remaining following spring term 2012.
  • Student should have a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
  • Recipients must be able to attend the 2012 Perennial Plant Symposium in Boston, Massachusetts.
  • An interest in a career in perennials is preferred but not required.
  • Applications must be postmarked on or before March 2, 2012.
  • Undergraduate students only are eligible.
  • Prior PPA scholarship recipients are not eligible.
